The Cornishman Inn. Restaurant and Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the heart of Tintagel.

Out and About
A special feature of The Cornishman is its fine display of rural bygones in all three bars.

A Traditional Cornish Inn where visitors and locals always feel welcome.

The Cornwall Coastal Footpath and nearby surfing beaches of Trebarwith and Bossiney are easily accessible either from the footpath, or in the case of the latter, through the beautiful Rocky Valley.

Situated in the village of Tintagel, within easy walking distance of breathtaking scenery along the cliffs, and the mythical home of King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, the inn offers all one expects from an old fashioned hostelry — a warm welcome, a roaring fire in the winter time, a spectacular flowered terrace and large gardens to enjoy in the summer time, and fine ales and wines all year round.

Boscastle is only a few minutes' drive away. Boscastle, as John Betjeman wrote, contains the widest variety of scenery and character in a small area to be found on the North Cornwall coast, while Tintagel is famous for its connections with King Arthur, the old castle ruins perched on the cliff top being its most obvious and best known feature. What is not so well known, perhaps, are the number of small coves and beaches that are in the area — two great favourites with visitors to our village are Trebarwith Strand with its large sandy beach, and the acres of golden sand to be found at low tide at Bossiney Cove.

Close at hand the area offers footpath cliff walks among breathtaking scenery, whilst the close proximity of the Camel Estuary offers all kinds of boating activities. There are many riding stables in the area and for the keen golfer the famous St Enodoc course, now rated amongst the top 50 in the UK, also overlooks the Camel Estuary, whilst the demanding Jack Nicklaus of St Mellion, home of the Benson and Hedges International in May, can be reached by car in not much over half an hour. Even closer, just over ten minutes or so by car from Tintagel, is the new 18 hole championship course of Bowood.
